Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: 

This role involves cataloguing, classifying, organizing, retrieving, and maintaining media files while ensuring smooth and efficient library operations. The Librarian plays a vital role in enabling content accessibility for production, editorial, and other key teams
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Cataloguing, Classification and archiving digital and physical media assets, including videos, audio files, and scripts.
• Ensure media files are accurately tagged with metadata for easy identification and retrieval.
• Respond promptly to content requests from internal teams, such as producers, reporters, editors, and sales team.
• Support the Research Lead in managing the Digital Asset Management system (DAM)
• Upload, organize, and update digital assets in the system as directed.
• Maintain a database for comprehensive storage, archiving of material and easy identification and retrieval of physical records.
• Provide first-level assistance to staff accessing the DAM system.
• Help implement preservation practices to protect physical and digital media assets.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and copyright regulations under the Research Lead’s guidance.
• Support research efforts for historical or archived content.
• Compile reports or lists of requested content as needed.
• Stay updated on library trends and technologies to support the team’s efficiency

Job Requirement

Qualifications and Experience:

Academic: University Degree in Library and Information science/Records and Archives or any related field from an accredited institution.
Professional: Diploma in Information systems
Experience:  1–3 years of experience in a library, media, or content management role. Familiarity with linear TV workflows and digital content systems is preferred.
